HOW CAN I HELP?

The clients I see are struggling with issues such as:

-Depression (sadness, hopelessness, loneliness, etc.)

-Anxiety (fear, stress, recurring unhelpful thoughts)

-Substance abuse (overuse of drugs, alcohol, sex or gambling)

-Life transitions (retirement, job change, parenthood, divorce)

-Trauma (childhood, adult-onset, Operational Stress Injury)

-Anger (resentment, aggression)

-Grief and loss (sadness due to the loss of a loved one, job, relationship)

-Involvement in the criminal justice system (clinical reports for court available)

MY APPROACH

Together we can create a safe space where you can generate clarity, self-compassion and empowerment.

 

How does this happen?

 

I use a combination of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectal Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness to deliver therapy that's as complex and varied as the clients I see. 

In other words, together we can work on: 

-identifying productive and unproductive thoughts and understanding their relationships to your moods and behaviours

-detecting and magnifying your strengths, resources and successes; 

-building coping skills to tolerate distress and regulate emotions; and 

-practicing focus and alertness in a way that can decrease rumination and improve moods
